HEET Project Scholarship

HEET Project Scholarship which aims to build the capacity of academic staff of SUA among other things, is supporting my studies through paying various costs related to university costs, research, traveling to and from the Netherlands, meal and accommodation and other costs which it would not be possible from my pockets.

I am also aware the HEET project is supporting other staff like me who are undertaking their studies elsewhere. The HEET project scholarship came after almost 8 since I finished my master’s degree at Sokoine University of Agriculture.

So the scholarship uplifted me from where I stacked after not being able to secure scholarship despite several applications. The scholarship helped me to achieve my academic goals as an academic member of staff to whom PhD is considered necessary. The scholarship helped me to cross the Africa continent to Europe continent which is an exposure to my personal life.

Plans for Future

My main future career aspiration

  • To play part in addressing challenges related to land in my nation and beyond

Plan to use my education to impact community or society at large

My plan is to engage more in research, teaching and advisory activities in order to find solutions, build capacity of land officers, and disseminate knowledge to the society on land related issues.

 Credit and expression of Gratitude

I start by thanking the Almighty God for granting me life full of blessings and energy. Then I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the SUA HEET Project under the Government of Tanzania and the donor(s) who provided the scholarship to support and invest in my PhD studies in the Netherlands.

Also, I extend my sincere gratitude to the SUA community, specifically Prof. R.T. Chibunda (VC, SUA), Prof. A. Muhairwa (DVC-AF), Prof. M. Mwatawala (DVC Academic), Dr. W.B. Mbungu (SUA-HEET Project coordinator), Dr. A. Nyambilila (SUA-HEET Project Training component coordinator), Prof. B.P. Mbilinyi (Dean, SoET), and Dr. P. Hieronimo (Head, DAGE) who their leadership in different capacities within SUA and HEET project made my dream to PhD become a reality and continue to make this journey happen.

In addition, I appreciate the efforts of all the staff working under the mentioned leadership as they are part of this special journey. To my family, I would like to extend my gratitude for accepting my departure from home and continuing to endure my absence as a continuation to support my carrier development.
