4. HEET PROJECT SCHOLARSHIP
To begin with, Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project, is a project in partnership with the government of Tanzania and the World Bank. The project among others intends to build the capacity of academic staff and university leadership through training, mentoring, and coaching programs for enhancing knowledge, skills, and abilities in order to perform their duties effectively. So, through the capacity building of academic staff, I have had an opportunity to pursue PhD studies in Language Education at the University of Botswana. The SUA HEET project has facilitated me with a flight ticket, tuition fee, stipend allowance, stationery, and book allowance.
Secondly, the SUA HEET project scholarship has greatly impacted my academic journey. Before the HEET Project, I had a long journey to find a sponsor for further studies, but with the HEET project scholarship, my journey seems to be shortened. Therefore, the HEET Project scholarship has greatly helped me achieve my academic goals as an academic staff.
5. FUTURE PLANS
My future plans are; Firstly, to complete my PhD studies and graduate on time, and continue with teaching activities. Secondly, to conduct research on different challenges facing the education sector in Tanzania and Africa at large. Through research, publication, outreach activities, and as a civil servant, I will have helped in solving educational challenges confronting my country. In this way, I will have impacted my education to my society or community.
6. GIVING CREDIT AND EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE
I am incredibly grateful for the generosity and compassion, and I want to make it clear how much I appreciate the HEET scholarship. First of all, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all SUA HEET Project team members for granting me a scholarship to pursue PhD studies at the University of Botswana. Your generosity and compassion have touched my academic journey and life in general. In this regard, I wish to sincerely thank the Vice-Chancellor (Prof. Raphael Chibunda), Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Planning, Administration and Finance (Prof. Amandus Muhairwa), SUA HEET project coordinator (Dr. Winfred Mbungu) and SUA HEET capacity-building coordinator (Dr. Nyambilila Amuri) for the whole process you have gone through to facilitate the project and my scholarship. I sincerely appreciate your effort and support.
Further, I wish to express my greatest gratitude to the Government Republic of Tanzania under honorable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the Word Bank for the continued cooperation and partnership that you have invested not only in my education but also for all Tanzanians in general.
