4.0 HEET Project Scholarship

4.1 Description of the HEET Project Scholarship received:

I’m enthusiastic as a HEET scholarship recipient in SUA through Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MoEST) and the World Bank for doing a PhD in Finance, I do congratulate SUA for continued endeavors to strengthen teaching and research capacity to staff through postgraduate scholarships and meet its mission and vision. This project has brought up a chance in my life to enrich my professional outgrowth in addressing critical topics in Finance sciences.

  • Impact of scholarship to my academic journey.

My interest in understanding the relationship between climate change and the financial performance of firms began after witnessing how climate brought many changes in the global. Then I realized I am among the stewards of the global economy, and that I could shape a future where environmental responsibility and financial success are not mutually exclusive, but rather intricately woven.

Embarking on the exploration of climate change and its intricate relationship with financial performance is not merely a research endeavor; it is a call to action that holds the power to shape the future of our global economy.

In the face of climate change, businesses that proactively adapt and innovate toward sustainability are not merely mitigating risk; they are seizing the chance to thrive in a rapidly evolving economic landscape. Investing in renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency, and adopting eco-friendly practices contribute not only to the preservation of our planet but also to the resilience and longevity of financial portfolios.

This research journey is a rallying call for curiosity and a commitment to making a tangible impact. It is an acknowledgment that the decisions we make today, grounded in rigorous exploration, will reverberate through the corridors of finance, influencing policies, shaping industries, and ultimately determining the resilience of our global economy in the face of climate challenges.

The HEET Scholarship has been instrumental in helping me achieve both academic and personal goals. As an academician I will fill the gap in my Department of Accounting and Finance due to the shortage of staff in the field of Finance, also I will work with my fellow scholars to achieve the mission and vision of the University and the nation at large. The financial support from the scholarship has relieved the burden of tuition fees and living expenses, allowing me to fully focus on my studies and research without financial stress. Moreover, the recognition and prestige associated with the scholarship have motivated me to strive for excellence in my academic pursuit
