Stakeholders of Education at Sokoine University of Agriculture, as part of the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project, convened for a crucial session at the College of Business (CBE) in Dodoma on January 4, 2024. The purpose of this meeting was to engage with external stakeholders and gather insights for the ongoing development and enhancement of new and improved curricula.
Dr. Godfrey Karugila, the Principal of Natural and Applied Sciences, highlighted the collaborative efforts undertaken with internal stakeholders, including relevant lecturers, to reach a stage where external perspectives become integral to the refinement process. The involvement of private sector employers and government representatives is deemed essential to ensure the practical relevance and effectiveness of the curricula being formulated.
The session attracted a diverse array of stakeholders, contributing to a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue. Among the participants were members of Private School Boards, representatives from the Teachers Association, Retired Lecturers, Students currently pursuing their studies, and graduates who have completed their programs. Additionally, a representative from the Office of the Ministry of Education added governmental insights to the discourse.
